SABnzbd Setup

If you do not already have SABnzbd installed or are unsure if you are running the latest version available, you can find a link to their download page here.

Quick Start

After installation, a webpage should appear for a quick setup guide for SABnzbd. Select your language of choice, and click Start Wizard.
Click the Advanced Settings option. The basic settings are as follows:

 

Host: news.astraweb.com

Username: Your Astraweb username

Password: Your Astraweb password
SSL: Yes

Port: 119 without SSL / 563 with SSL (This will change alongside the SSL toggle, and does not need to be edited)

Connections: 45 (We recommend testing with various connection amounts to maximize speed)
Certificate verification: Strict

Select Test Server and verify the account is able to connect. If the connection is successful, select Next.

The newsreader is now configured and ready for use. You can follow the guide below if you'd like to make further changes.

Existing Installation

If you already have an installation of SABnzbd or have other servers configured, select the SABnzbd Config  icon at the top right, then select Servers from the top.

 

With Advanced Settings selected, enter the following information:

 

Host: news.astraweb.com (a full list can be found in the Member's Area)

Port: 119 without SSL / 563 with SSL (This will change alongside the SSL toggle) (a full list can be found in the Member's Area)

SSL: Unchecked if your port is 119, Checked if your port is 563

Username: Your Astraweb username

Password: Your Astraweb password

Connections: 45 (We recommend testing with various connection amounts to maximize speed)

Priority: 0 (more info can be found here under Priorities)

Retention Time: 0

Timeout: 60

Certificate verification: Strict
SSL Ciphers: (blank)

Optional: Unchecked

Send Group: Unchecked

Server description: Astraweb
Personal notes: (blank)

You can test the connection with the Test Server button. Make sure to also select Save Changes once completed.
